bclaytonsc :  Veiny boobs can definitely be a sign of pregnancy. I would take another test as soon as possible. You could be pregnant or just randomly ovulated late.

Your period could be late for any number of reasons. It’s very common.

Take a pregancy test again. At this point, it will show up if you are pregnant.

If the test is negative, then just keep waiting for your period. If you don’t have it for 3 months, then call your GYN, and she will see you and likely prescribe a drug to start your period.

Test again. If you’re not pregnant, you ovulated late (or not at all yet).

Well if you don’t know your O date by temping, you really don’t know when your period is due.  Have you not tested in two weeks???  Take another test, they are accurate.  If it’s still negative then you’re not pregnant.  But no, depending on when you ovulate your AF might not really be due whe you think it is, so it’s possible to get an early negative the day you think AF is due, and a positive later.

bclaytonsc :  No, even ovulating 3 or 4 days later can make your period actually due 3 or 4 days later than normal.  Which means you could have missed a possible positive test since you could have tested too early.  Stress or travel can delay ovulation easily.  Sometimes women also have random anovulatory cycles.

Take the second test and good luck!! Maybe it was too early the first time or the test didn’t catch the hormones?

bclaytonsc :  This used to happen to me ALL. THE. TIME. (like once a year for the past 12 years) It has happened when I used condoms only, when I was the pill, when I was on the implant, and even now that I have a copper IUD. I have spent so much money on pregnancy tests and taken too many to count. My cycle is usually 28 – 32 days but randomly I will have this crazy late period that throws me off to the point where it’s the only thing I can focus on. Then all the typical PMS symptoms then seem like pregnancy symptoms.

All I can say is wait another day or two and test again in the morning (first time you urinate) to get the most concentrated sample.

If you are not charting or temping you do not know when you ovulated and therefore if you are late. I ovulate on CD 30 usually, which is when an an average women’s period is due. If I was not temping I would think I was late or pregnant every cycle… When the case is actually that I just have long cycles. Good luck!

bclaytonsc :  you make me start believing in women who didn’t know they were pregnant… Being two weeks late or actually didn’t occur to you to keep testing?

mrs2014 :  Why would this make you believe in women who don’t know they are pregnant? She took a test it was negative and she is still skeptical. She’s looking for support out there and seeing if this is normal. I would imagine her current actions would in fact make the whol “I didn’t know I was pregnant” thing less plausible since she is only 2 weeks late and is stressing about it.
