I would definitely make a follow up appointment with your doctor to talk about the bleeding and to see if it’s okay to skip the placebo pills.  Skipping the pills depends on what type of BC you’re on.

First things first…you should really get an appointment with your gynocologist.  I can tell you that when I was training for a marathon about 8 years ago, I lost a lot of weight too and my cycle was wacked out!  But def. talk to your doctor.  I wish I had more words of advice.

First off, did you intend to lose weight?  If so, dietary and changes in exercises can change your period.  However, I think you should talk to your doctor about this.  There might be something serious or it could be nothing–either way, peace of mind is a good thing!

Yes, weight loss and stress CAN affect your period, but it doesn’t always.  Mine was never affected.  I would be safe and follow up with your doc.

@rawrkitty1022:  I hope I didn’t offend you.  I just didn’t know if it was caused by a health issue.

I think it’s time to see the doctor. This could be a sign of something WAY more serious that you need to get checked out.

I agree – weight loss, dietary changes and stress can all affect your period.  It may be that your birth control isn’t working properly for you either.  I would make an appointment to see your doctor!  You can ask about the weight loss and let him/her know about the period and spotting that is happening, so they can make a recommendation.  You may need to try another form of BC.  Usually skipping your placebo pills is effective, but I agree with you – there is no way to know since your period seems to be all over the place!  Hopefully you can get this figured out so you don’t have your period on your wedding day!
