@leogal:  I think you’re just irregular and that sounds normal to me.

I’ve been getting periods since I was 9 years old. My periods have always been INCREDIBLY irregular. All of my checkups, paps and whatnot have been normal, so I say you’re just one of the fated women who are cursed with irregularity.

Hopefully your checkups are fine.

I’d always get my periods every 4-6 weeks before I went on birth control. Now I can tell you the day and hour I’ll get it. If it bugs you, consider going on the pill to make yourself more regular.

It’s common.  This happens to me too – not all the time, but it goes in spurts (30 day cycle, then 35, then 30, then 34 etc).  It’s a bit annoying because during the long cycles I inevitably end up wasting a preg test – I’m too impatient. 🙂

Nah, you just sound irregular.

I was toootally irregular before I went on the pill. Now I’m off the pill, and I seem to maintain *some* regularity, but for example-

I’ll go 6-8 months with my cycle being almost *exactly* 35 days. Then, out of the blue, something changes, and my cycle will be *exactly* 28 days for several months. It’s a pretty drastic difference in cycle length, but my health has been perfectly fine.

You’re normal. Before I was on the pill, I’d get my period every 3 months! Now that I stopped taking the pill, I’m not looking forward to skipping, especially because I’m so not ready to be a mom.

I track mine monthly because I’m very irregular. Like you I will get my period early one month like on day 27 or whatever and the next month get it on day 32. I know from working with doctors that so many things can affect your cycle, medications, diet, exercise, stress…as long as you aren’t getting your periods any closer than about 26 days once in a while and no furrther than 33 days once in a while or your bleeding for longer than a week or if its too heavy (like soaking a pad or tampon every 2hours) than its just a normal cycle to be a little early or late. You can talk to your doctor about it though if it would make you feel better. But unless you are having complications affecting your periods its nothing to worry about usually.
