Cranberry juice always works for me but I’ve never had a serious one…

You can get cranberry vitamins from a chemist. A nurse once told me to drink beer as well when I had a UTI?

I get these all the time, sometimes I have to go to the emergency room because Im bleeding so bad its awful. First things drink a ton of cold water. Then see if you have any 24 hour clinic centres (we call them drop off clinics here) sort of like an emergency doctor to get antibiotics. If not, then buy some ‘Azo’ tablets (cant get them here in the UK so I ordered them online). They will make the pain much more bearable but dont treat the UTI itself- great for mild UTIs whilst the body can flush out the bacteria itself but no good for serious UTIs. If the pain gets really bad, the pain spreads up your back, you get a fever or you see blood, go straight to the emergency room- mine almost spread to my kidneys once and it was not an experience anyone should have to go through.

You can get UZO from any CVS or Walgreens, it helps the pain and discomfort. (Except the embarrassment for purchasing it)

My friend swears by dried cranberries, and lots of them, and plenty of water. Should at least make things a bit more bearable until you can get some anti-bs!

Ama14:  azo will help the most, along with a ton of water. Cranberry makes the urine more acidic and that is how it helps prevent a UTI but it isn’t really good at easing symptoms. In fact, it can make bladder irritation worse. I would lay off it until you can get some antibiotics.

Ama14:  also, if you have a minute clinic or other “doc in a box” clinic, I would just go there today. It is a simple pee test to diagnose and not worth suffering another day of it can be helped.

Do you absolutely have to wait until Tuesday? Do you have walk-in clinics where you live?

UTI’s can be dangerous if left untreated, the infection can even spread to your kidneys…I would go in ASAP if I could.

You can get azo over the counter at like a Walgreens. That helped me when I hahad my last one. I drank tons of crambercramberry juice and water which helped clear it up but the meds helped get rid of the discomfort and the constantly having to pee feeling.

Can’t recommend AZO more. Takes the pain right away!
