Far too much, over 7k for a Monique Lhuillier. I think the bottom line is if you can comfortably afford it and its what you want then it shouldn’t matter what other people spent on theirs.

The wedding dress itself was $350 but the jewelry + veil + shoes + undergarments + alterations will bring it up to at least twice that amount.  (Guys have it so easy, don’t they??)  But I just bought what I’d consider a pricey rehearsal dress ($250) and we’re having a second reception, so again I bought another pricey cocktail dress ($200) for that event.  I felt more justified in splurging more on the latter two dresses as I know I will be able to wear them again in the future.  I love all the varied responses on this thread… different strokes for different folks!!

My dress (a Romona Keveza) was originally $4450, but I ended up buying the sample for $3000, with all alterations included in that price. It was the top of my price range, but I think I got a pretty good deal.

I was really surprised with how reasonably priced my dress was! I had set a budget of $3000 and mine ended up being $1265 (not including tax and alterations)

Mine is a Casablanca and it was $1000, worth every hard earned penny too!

$1700 with veil, but still need alterations, hopefully it will all be under $2k.

Slightly under 1600 which included dress, cathedral veil and blusher. Alterations are going to run to 300. Couldn’t help it I fell in love with it in Demetrios Bridal in Macys. I tried Davids Bridal, Kays Bridal, Bridal Garden and RK Bridal in NYC.

If you love the dress and it’s reasonably within budget, go for it and don’t worry about pricetag. If dress is out of budget then close your eyes and walk away.

My maggie was much less than I expected, being a reasonable $800 ish, plus about $200-$300 for alterations…so I’ll be around $1000 when I am done. Not too shabby…of course if you ask the SO, Idk if he thinks that’s such a great deal, lol

Somewhere around $800. More than I was planning on spending but not out of the budget. +tax, alterations, undergarments it will be near $1300.

I got a gorgeous French lace dress made by Watters for $750. It was retailed at $1800 I think, but I bought it off the rack from a store that was selling everything on the floor at clearance prices. It was 3 sizes too big and a halter so with alterations, changing the straps, adding buttons down the back, and cups it comes to about $1100 total. (Alterations can get pricy!) But well worth it… my dream dress from Paloma Blanca was $3000 and this dress looks almost IDENTICAL to it! I couldn’t be happier!

Mine was $215 at a POB Sample Sale. I bought a POB veil from a bride who hadn’t worn it for 1/2 price. My alterations are being done by a family friend. I definitely imagined spending closer to $800 for everything.

Mine is Casablanca 1901.  The actual dress price was $899.  We paid $215 for hollow to hem measurement – with tax, etc. it came to $1300 or so.

Mine was $1700 before the discount but I got it for 50% off so I only paid $850! My budget for my dress is $1500 but I’m hoping with alterations and a custom made veil it wont even be that much!
