I took BCP for 15+ years and we never used any other method. Never had an issue.

I got pregnant within 6 months of stopping.

zoey830 :  Doubling up is fine, if it makes you both feel more secure in avoiding an unplanned pregnancy.

I was on HBC for a while and we still used condoms as a back up because like a PP said we were not in the right place in our lives to get accidentally pregnant. I had issues with HBC so we now exclusively condoms . Too Much Information but I like the tidiness of condoms…no wet patches on the bed and no leak of semen hours later when I’m out and about or at work.

*As an aside is anyone else’s telephone spell check and dictionary a prude?? Mine always corrects condoms and semen to condone and seamen….😲

I wouldn’t call it weird because I do know people who use two forms of birth control. The hubby and I don’t use anything other than me being on the pill and I have never gotten pregnant. However, there are people who have gotten pregnant on the pill, shot, etc.

I think if I was in this situation then we would either have to use a condom from the start or he would just have to pull out when he is about to ‘finish’ because to me, that ruin’s the mood — having sex, getting into it and then right in the middle, he stops to put on a condom and then we finish?? What if you are right in the middle of getting yours??

So, we would either use a condom or we wouldn’t but he wouldn’t be stopping in the middle of sex to put one on.

I Say do what makes you comfortable, but if you are responsible with your pill, condoms aren’t necessary. They also diminish the overall effect in my opinion. But you do you! 😉
