- Wedding: June 2011
Fiance and I are gonna go with traditional vows, cause we don’t wanna leave anything out (haha), but we still wanted to do something personal, so we’re writing something to read mid-ceremony – I finished a rough draft of mine tonight and I’m hoping to get some opinions… >_> nice ones! I hope…
“Every little girl dreams of her wedding day. We plan the dress, the flowers. We pick our menu, our music. Then we change everything, about a hundred times before the real deal is anywhere near in sight. We plot every last things, down to the shoes.
The one thing that we can’t plan ahead for, however, is who we’ll be marrying.
The way I look at it is, it’s alot like life. We have our goals and dreams, those things we like, things we dislike and those things we’re passionate about. We change, we grow, we learn. Ultimately though, we realize in the end, that it isn’t about the path we walk, but our destination.
Through all the planning and all the plotting, all the choices and mind changes, it doesn’t make a difference what dress I’m wearing, or what flowers I carry. It’s not about the musice or the menu. Because no matter how long I’ve been planning for and despite all the work put into it, what really matters on my wedding day… what’s really important and what makes this day the day I’ve always dreamed of, is the man standing before me.
A man designed for me, hand picked by God, to be by my side all the days of my life. A man who has not just made a little girl’s wedding dreams come true, but all my dreams.
I love you, and I cannot wait to share the rest of my life with you.”
