have you looked into the 30 Day Shred?  its all over the boards if you want more details.  but 20 minutes a day for 30 days is a really small commitment.  you can do it!

I needed the motivation as well, bought all the DVD’s still just wouldnt get me off my butt so I enlisted in a fitness bootcamp. Although not the cheapest (as you said you’re on a budget)

I go 3 times a week, for 6 weeks and it was $270. I found this to be the most resonable out of all the bootcamps I looked into and one of the more longer running ones.

My mom is a workout FREAK (I did not get that gene) and she has a trainer. She found her through Fitworks in Rocky River, although I don’t think she works with them anymore. That gym would be my personal rec though because I know they have some great employees. Not sure what your budget is (it’s different for everyone) but I know another trainer in Cleveland as well. I used to work for him. His name is Marty Velasco and here is his website:


He’s tough and will definitely get your butt in shape. Hope that helps!!

I don’t live in Cleveland, but I still wanted to chime in to say:

1.  WOO HOO re: losing 30lbs.   That is quite an accomplishment.  I’m working on shaping up as well, and as part of that I….

2.  Hired a personal trainer, and he is DEFINITLEY helping to keep me more motivated.  Plus I think it helps to have a professional on your side and someone else who is highly vested in your success.

I used to work at and know a lot of people at Peak Performance Health Center in Broadview Hts. They’re great, there are ton of really good personal trainers there that could DEFINITELY whip you into shape. I’m planning on joining for the month I’m home before the wedding, and getting a trainer to kick my @$$ because I can’t seem to get motivated to do it on my own (note: my wedding is in less than 3 months!) Also, I used to work at Case, and when I did, I went to 1-2-1 (the gym at CWRU) and had a trainer named Melissa who was awesome. I did a bridal boot camp (before I was even engaged, cuz I was in so many weddings!) and they focused on concerns for brides, arms, etc. Melissa ran it then but I don’t know if she is still running it. I can’t remember how much it cost but it wasn’t an arm and a leg or I wouldn’t have been able to afford it on my meager salary! Good luck!
