I think anything with wedding costs an arm and a leg.  Do you have a gym near you (either home or work) where you can get a short-term membership?  If so, I’d go that route over the boot camp, etc., as it’s usually a lot less.  And see about getting a good friend, bridesmaid, co-worker, etc. that you can team up with to keep you honest.

If you are worried about how to go about doing things, try Craigslist and find a trainer or someone that can personalize workouts for you to do on your own.

I haven’t found one that’s reasonable either, though I’ve mostly been looking in Westchester because I figured it’s cheaper than the city. The only place I know of that even has a personal trainor-style bootcamp is Peak Performance on 21st which I’d lurrrrve to go to but they’re pretty pricey  (here).

I have a NYSC membership, and I did a “tri-pack” where you get 3 personal training sessions at a discounted rate ($90 for 3, I think?) and then I did a 5-pack of 30-minute sessions, which I think was about $250. I did training once every 2 weeks and tried to repeat the workout every other day between sessions. You have to ask your trainer to only show you exercises that you can do on your own – often they like to get you hooked on personal training by doing things where you need a partner.

Yay!! I’ve been looking for this thread for like a 1/2hr. LOL

I found one!! It’s called Bootcamp Republic & it’s supposed to be awesome. I might have to think about it or at least work my way up to it a little myslef cuz I’m not really in great shape.

Check it:

EDIT: It’s not exactly a “bridal” bootcamp but it does look pretty cool.

Shoot – I may be too late to catch you ladies, but just in case  – I started going to a boot camp class in December in Park Slope and I am SO eternally grateful that my landlady turned me on to this class and trainer!  Can’t believe I’ve been paying a gym membership fee that I’ve hardly used for I’m not going to tell you how long.  (gasp!)  Needless to say, I’ve hardly used it.

The boot camp class is a blast, but is also seriously hard work!  The trainer is super positive – good vibes, upbeat – many of the women in her classes are moms trying to lose some extra weight, but also lots of other women just trying to gain strength, get fit, drop a few pounds – whatever the case may be.

Aja Davis is the trainer’s name and I cannot speak highly enough of her.  She is a holistic health care practicioner, a nutritionist, and a trainer.  She makes it tons of fun, helps us set goals and reach them.  So far I’ve lost 12 pounds and dropped 2 – count them – TWO sizes!!!  If anyone is interested, her website is http://newbodybootcampnyc.com/

I’d be happy to give you more feedback if anyone is interested!

I usually don’t write posts, but I JUST HAD to for this, I found the MOST amazing trainer, well she’s more than a trainer, she hosts an online fitness show but she;s based out of NYC. I took her botocamp lst summer and not only did I lose 15lbs in a month, my body transformed (I didn’t think I was capable of being so slim, lean and toned)!

I’ve never worked out with this style in my life and the best part, no expensive gym membership or equipment. This summer I’m going back. Just check out her channel and you can get an idea of her workout style.

It’s not just the class, she teaches you how to work out more efficiently and gives you ‘homework’ for the other days of the week, so you can do workouts on your own time too!

Changed my life, it will change yours too i think….her site is http://www.amandarussell.tv or http://amanda-russell.com/
