Fiance and I are writing our own vows for our friend-officiated, 100% secular ceremony. Which was my awesome idea…and now I’m stuck. I definitely still have time, but when I was out of town a few weeks ago Fiance asked me for some guidelines/etc – we decided on the “how I knew I loved you, why I love you, my promises to you” format – about 250 words per person, give or take. I sent him some blog posts and stuff…and a week later he tells me he’s done and “they’re the sweetest, best vows ever and you will cry like a baby”.
<br />Well thanks for setting the bar so freaking high!
And…come to find out I’m not very romantic, or good with words/expressing myself. I’ve found a few vows online – either videos or just written out – that I like and they’re definitely the best starting point from me.
So…does anyone have any favorite vows (either your own or someone else’s) that you can share? Or helpful words? One of those lists of adjectives? Seriously…I’m like…”I love you because you are really nice. And you always buy me soup when I’m sick. And you make me laugh, even at 7 in the morning. And you put my feelings first.”. Uh…that is NOT a good wedding vows. And I love him more than anything…I guess I’m just not good at figuring out specific reasons why…we just fit!
