Sorry, I already have a couple of matching sets, of 4 coaster each (8 total). Having two more, that don’t match the ones I use, would probably not be used.

We entertain outside fairly often, and keep some coasters for outdoor use only. So, yes–we’d likely use ours.

For each person who says they wouldn’t, there are people who would. That’s the thing about favors, no matter what kind you pick.

ppfenni:  I would use it at the wedding but not take it home. I’m just not a person who would have personalized things around my home.

I would keep the coasters if it was a wedding of someone I was really really close to (best friend,  sibling) but it wouldn’t be my personal  favorite. I love mismatched things in general so I wouldn’t be put off by the fact that it doesn’t match.  I guess it just doesn’t appeal to me personally. However, just like other bees have said for every person that doesn’t like them there’s someone else that does. I had a similar thread and it ended up being half and half split. But the favor I picked really made my heart happy so I didn’t mind if anyone really liked it. I guess that’s my advice to you: Go with a favor that makes your heart sing.

I’d probably take it home and use it, despite having a matching set of coasters already.  Mine are photo coasters so they don’t entirely match in the first place.  Plus nothing else in my house does either.  Also I’m good at breaking them.  However, I would only do so if it was just colors or whatever and my name.  If you stuck your wedding date on it or something, I probably wouldn’t be interested anymore.  I don’t need to field questions about a random date on a coaster for the rest of my life.

I think something more artistic than the guest’s name would be used more.

I made my own coasters but I didn’t personalize them. I did them generic so if some people want them and some people don’t others can take more than one or I can try to sell the extras when all is said and done.

ppfenni:  I *might* take it to work and use it at the office.  I wouldn’t use it at home.  But if they’re cute and in your budget, get them. : )

It’s a cute placecard, but I don’t think many people would take them home.

I would use them, we actually thought about giving coasters ourselves!

I would use them too! I’m also thinking of doing the coaster favors. But I’m planning on making them myself!

stephanie1307:  If you’re doing Modpodge on tiles like I did, I would reccommend making sure you have a sealant and DO NOT put the coasters on top of each other, even if the modpodge is dried, until they are sealed!!! I ruined a ton of my coasters because even though the ModPodge was dry to the touch, it stays tacky and everything sticks together… Just thought I’d pass along my words of wisdom. Good luck! 🙂

Thank you for your wisdom! 😊  I will remember that. I hope to start them next week.
