I am really sorry to hear about your kitty. I hope he or she starts to turn around. Have you tried chicken babyfood mixed with water? * HUGS*

🙁

When this happened with our cat, it’s when we realized it was time to say goodbye. She had kidney failure and could not eat or drink without vomiting (so stopped trying). I hope you find a solution for your kitty.

I am so sorry that you are going through this! We have kitties with a lot of medical needs, so I know how hard it is.

I bet that if anything can help, the steroids will. Are you putting her on prednisolone? That turned my cat into an eating machine–he gained four pounds in four months on it!

Some cats also prefer dry food, so I’d try a high-end kibble too. My cats will also eat out of my hand sometimes if they’re not feeling well.

I know you’ve said that you’ve tried a lot of wet foods, but my cats LOVE Weruva (the Petco version of this is called Soulistic) in the pouches (NOT the cans), especially the tuna flavors.

Good luck! Sending hugs to you and kitty!

Emm85: Your poor kitty. 🙁  I’m so sorry to hear about this!  Try sprinkling some parmesean cheese on her food.  If that doesn’t work, I’d try adding bonito flakes which are dried thin fish flakes.  PetSmart and/or PetCo may have them, but you can also get them online http://www.amazon.com/Cat-Man-Doo-Bonito-Flakes-1-Ounce-Container/dp/B000IW71BQ.  Best of luck to you!

Sometimes drugs can make them more sick. Can you try different ones/dosage?

When my cat was sick and wouldn’t eat, I fed him raw chicken and other meat, and gave him vitamin C. Have you tried a can of sardines?

The classic Fancy Feast is actually good.

My sister’s cat was this way.  They actually cooked her chicken thighs (more moist than the breast meat) and pulled it into tiny bites for her.  She’d eat that.  Though not much.  She’d still eat it.  They gave her fluids 2x a day along with this food regimine, and it kept her alive another 6 months.  I’m really sorry for your kitty. 🙁

Kidney disease can make them very nauseous.  If the anti-nausea meds aren’t enough to get her eating you can ask your vet to try an appetite stimulant.

Try warming up the food. You can also buy baby food (Ensure the label states it has no onion or garlic in it) and warm that up as well. Usually it’s whole meats that might be more appealing to her.

I am sorry about your kitty. It’s heartwrenching to do everything anf still not get anywhere. Usually if they don’t eat, it’s when you should start considering to say goodbye.

Sending good vibes to you and your fuzzy friend. Hopefully she starts nibblng soon!
