We just use a foscam, nothing pet specific. We can talk to them through it but we almost never do so because it confuses them.

We just use regular webcams. The dits just lay by the front door most of the time

We used have a webcam that I was able to speak to my dog through a mini speaker, but I noticed after a few months that she never reacted to my voice via speaker anyway. While on a Fry’s Electronics run, we decided to invest to the DLink-5020 because it has 360 motion, mobile app, wifi, auto night mode, sound/motion detection ON/OFF feature (it can also send clips to your email if triggered). It really does a dual purpose of home security and pup watching 🙂

Eventhough we have a sufficent security cam to keep track of what she’s up to – I love the idea of the pet webcams! I’m sure my pup would love it too if a treat came out of a magical box while we were away!!

I just got a nest and love it. You can listen and also talk through it. I love seeing my pets reaction when they hear my voice. It also has night vision and notifies you when it detects motion.

We have a Simplicam. It’s been awesome so far. My dog can’t figure out where my voice is coming from when I speak to him.

I created a Skype acct under my dog’s name.  Set the laptop in front of her. Then downloaded Skype app on my phone. I set it up to not make noise on her end when I call…

My Darling Husband backed an indiegogo project that is an automatic cat feeder with a water fountain, a webcam, a speaker, a scale, and cat facial recognition software so it can record weight, food and water intake, frequency of visits, etc separately for each cat, and you can talk to your cats while they are eating through the app, and you can program it to feed each cat differently in case one needs to eat more or less than another…. Welll it’s had numerous production delays so e’ll see if we ever get it! A cool idea for sure but honestly I’m not sure if it’s really necessary lol!

happbeetogetmarried:  Don’t do PetChatz! We spent over $300 for it and it is THE WORST. The screen is so small and the quality is HORRIBLE. Your dog will soon only associate PetChatz with treats. Also, it freezes all the time. So not worth it!

We now have The Nest. It’s clear, you can zoom in, it records any motion and allows you to replay. Sound is great and it allows you to speak to your dog. We love it!

We have nest. We got it for security reasons after a break in but it’s mostly used to spy on our dogs. We’ve caught them in loads of trouble with it!!!!

happbeetogetmarried:  wow in 10 min!? That’s impressive!!!

we have a built in bench right below our kitchen counter so our one dog likes to counter surf. One day we accidentally left some muffins on the counter so we watched her enjoy those all over the living room floor. As well as destroy a wooden spoon that was sitting on top of a crock pot full of BBQ flavored meat. The spoon had sauce on it so she went for it. And of course when we come home our other dog is the one acting guilty even thought we know it wasn’t her. The trouble maker dog is a real peach. No remorse whatso ever!! 😒

happbeetogetmarried:  For sure if we ever get it I will let you know! Current ship estimate is June maybe? But it’s been delayed over a year, and their website went down recently, so I can’t say I’m optimistic. It’s called Catfi if you want to look it up 🙂
