Our Dog is a Corgi Mix…his name is Harley! We didn’t give it to him though, he was a rescue dog and already named.  He is the light of my life! Good Luck!

Yay Corgis!!!

We have a Pembroke Corgi named Eva, after the character in WALL-E,  people kept pronouncing it Eh-va rather than EE-va so I started referring to her as “Eva the Diva.”  She completely lives up to her name.  Two weeks ago, we adopted a cardigan corgi who we named Sir Winston.  That name just kindof came to us – he was sitting so calmly like an elder statesman in contrast to Eva’s diva-tastic FRAPing, and so he became Sir Winston.

Our pup was born in April, took him home late June.

We had Bauer and Hudson picked out (depending on which one of the two boys we were getting) we got “Bauer”, but it just didn’t seem like the right fit.

We took a day and after knowing him better and giving it some thought now having him….his name is Finlay! We sort of just came up with names, brainstormed, Fiance picked the favourite of mine, I picked the best of what he came up with and we compared them!

We did google the Gaelic definition of the name to come up with his CKC name, which is “Fair Warrior” he is not a warrior in terms of fighter in a mean way, but he was born the smallest and had to “battle” for his food a little more than the rest of the pups, so….that’s his naming story.

I like human names for pets. I think it’s very funny 😉  My cat Peter is actually Peter Pan, because my childhood cat was Shadow who passed away a couple years before I got Peter. So Peter Pan always followed his shadow… Then I got a buddy to keep Peter company since he seemed kind of lonely. I wanted a girl so I could name her Tink, but I feel in love with a boy kitten. My roommate at the time suggested Mr Smee (Hook’s first mate). That name was PERFECT for him. Smee was loyal, loving, and just lived to make you happy. Best. Cat. Ever. Unfortunately he passed away just before Christmas, but before he passed we fostered and adopted Glory to make the transition easier for Peter. The name came with her, so I thought at first she was a Morning Glory, but she’s incredibly adorable yet high strung, and it kept turning into “Glory be hallelujah what in the world have you done now!?!?!?!?!”, so there ya go. She also gets referred to a lot as Glory Be, or just Bee. I don’t know why it turns into Bee with two e’s. It just is 😉

Our next cat I’d like to name something like Harry, so when people come over it’s like “These are our cats Peter and Harry”, it sounds very formal and funny. I’m weird, I know.

My dog is named Noodles, because I love a goofy name and she’s a goofy girl.  FI’s dog is named Bishop. He’s a black and white boston, Fiance likes to play chess a lot, and his coloring is sort of like a chess board.

I have names picked out for my next two dogs (which I may never have): Pickles and Beastie.

We have a labradoodle. We were discussing what to name him when Bob Seger came on the radio. We are huge fans and knew right then that his name had to be Seger!!

All of our current and past pets have had human names. I could never bring myself to name my cat “fluffy” or something of the sort. Too cutesie for me.

This is our baby Lincoln (the lion). I think he’s the coolest cat ever but maybe I’m biased…

When we got him, Prison Break was one of our favorite shows and we both really liked the name Lincoln (even before the show). It’s a good, strong name for a beast of a cat!

Our dog is a rescue, so he came with his name. Teddy. Probably not what I would have picked, but it suits him.

My 3 cats are named

  • Daximus Alexander (we call him Dax or Daxie)
  • Navin Reginald (we call him Navin or Navie) and
  • Cali Marie (we call her Cali or Cali Girl)

I love both human names and silly names for pets.  I think most of the time you just have to see the animal to pick a name.

But If I were to get a Corgi the boy names I like are:  names Edward, Bruce, Chauncey, and Clive. For girls I like Kensington, Charlotte, Contessa, and Raleigh
