bell616:  Yep! I ended up with a ballgown!  It was pretty windy when this pic was taken so it’s pushed against my legs but there was a lot of dress there!

If you want a ballgown, you should wear a ballgown! Rules are meant to be broken ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m 5’2 and I tried on ballgowns. I think especially if you have a small waist they make you look like a perfect little doll (in a good way). I have a friend who’s a 5’2 pear shape and she looked exquisite in her lace ballgown with a sparkle belt. As she was only a 34B-ish on top, she wore strapless and kept the skirt more of an A-line shaped ballgown without a huge hoop underneath. she definitely didn’t look overpowered in the dress. It was her perfect style.

My wedding dress is more like an A-line dress but has mini ruffles. I think it made me look taller! If you like it, go for it! It is your day and you have to love it. When I was looking for a dress, I love the lace for the romantic look, the beads for the glam look and ruffles for the fun look. Lucky I found all three in my dress.dress-2

I’m 5’0″ and my husband is 6’3″, so I was really concerned that a poofy dress would overwhelm my frame and make me look smaller. But I tried on the Pronovias Mildred, and I felt so amazing in it! Here I am in my dress and 5″ heels next to my husband for size reference

Im Sofia in the first and Cinderella in the others, the other girls are much taller than me but you can’t really tell!

i dont have a picture to share right now but i’m 5’3″ and picked a ballgown – Allure Romance #2853. When I first went dress shopping I was set on a getting a fit and flare and refused to even look at ball gowns but after I tried the first one on and looked at pictures of what I looked like I started only hunting for ball gowns.

bell616:  Yeah my mom had to force me to just try on a ballgown for her. I finally agreed and at first didn’t think anything of it. But after trying on more dresses and realizing I didn’t feel bridal in them (which is why I wasn’t in love with the gowns I tried) I realized that the ball gown gave me that extra oomph that I was looking for for the wedding “wow”. So even now when sometimes I get antsy about whether or not I chose the right dress I look back on pictures and am reassured that this was the look I always dreamed of (I just didn’t realize it until I tried it)
