emily20 :  I am short as well, and I wore flats because I hate heels!

I’m 5’0 and really didnt want a long dress as I felt I would get lost in it. Also we are doing an outdoor wedding by a lake in July so figured short would be cooler also. This one is a size too small (had to order my size).

I’m 5’3″ wearing 2″ heels in this picture. It’s a Maggie Sottero, and I ordered the extra petite. I found that slimmer fitting gowns were more flattering and elongating, while dramatic mermaids or ballgowns made me look very short and dumpy.

I am 5’3 and will be rocking my natural height in flats. I’m absolutely clumsy in heels and I didn’t want to take any risks.

I wore 5 inch heels for the ceremony but in this photo I’m in 3 inch wedges. It’s just that my husband is 14 inches taller than me and I was hoping our kiss didn’t look all hunched over and ridiculous. I’m 5’2… if I stretch reaaaallly tall.

I don’t know if all designers do this, but I went with Madison James because they make their designs in petite versions where they are made shorter at the torso vs. just being shortened at the bottom.

This made a huge difference for me. The first picture is the sample gown in my size but in “regular” and you can see it didn’t hug my curves as well because the waist was too long. The second picture is my actual dress, same size in “petite” and it was so much more flattering.

I’m 5’0. And I wore 2 gowns for my church event. The white gown I paired with a 4 inch heels and red gown with a 3’5 heels. For reference, my now husband is 6’1

These are the only photos I have so far of my dresses – all guests pics. I did not exactly do a dress fitting.

swtapple :  Thanks bee! Yeah I ended up having a french bustle for the dress. It was really gorgeously done but made my dress feel HEAVY!!
