I love this post! And a big agreement on the “cute” comments!! I’m 5’3 1/2″ (yes, I count the helf inch!) and pretty little all over, so I feel you guys. I am so tired of trying on dresses and clipping half the fabric away. I wish there was a store that specialized in petite brides ๐Ÿ™‚

Have you tried Casablanca dresses?  They’re great for petite figures. I wore one on the day of my wedding.

Love this post and the comments about being called “cute” (I hate that word)!!

I’m 5’0 and am dying to get this dress, the Melissa Brooch.  Problem is, I haven’t been able to try it on because it is an older style and all the stores even remotely by me have sold their samples.  I’ve seen this style on other WB brides who appear to be very blessed in the boob area (I’m a 32B) and are tall, they look gorgeous.  Since I haven’t been able to try it on, I don’t know whether the brooch would be too low on me, which everyone is concerned about. I’ve also heard it is VERY heavy.

Have any of you tried on Maggies with dropped waists/placement of low brooches or embellishments? Did these embellishments look too low on your petite frame?

Do you think the brooch would be way too low on me (again I am 5’0, 100 lbs) or look okay?

Here’s a related post with me wearing two similar styles from the same designer, Maggie Sottero. I thought they looked fine, but then again, I was standing on a stool in both pictures! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m wearing Simone Carvalli.  The sample I tried on was a size 4, which is what I ended up ordering.  I’m in love!  I’m 5’3″, about 125 pounds, for reference.

It’s so frustrating being petite! I just put up a post about my dress issues. ๐Ÿ™‚

I wanted to buy a used gown originally, but at my size (under 4’10”, 102 lbs) it’s just not happening.  So I went in to David’s Bridal to try on the Oleg Cassini 7CRL277 and all they had was a 10 in the regular (not petite) CRL277. The thing was huge, I was totally swimming in it, and the sales reps couldn’t figure out if I should order a 6 or an 8 (rep said 8, seamstress said 6). I wear a street size 0 or 2P! I was thinking I would be a size 4. I am 35 bust, 25 waist, 37 hip.

Now even though I think I know the dress, I’m looking at used dresses and based on those measurements I can order a 4, but if I buy retail they decided on the 6. I’m not concerned with the label size really, but I would like to order a dress that fits! Tongue out

@shortcherriez I’m worried this is what is happening to me, but it’s so hard to tell! I just posted below that my size isn’t matching up online with used gowns with what they are trying to sell me retail. ๐Ÿ™
