I’m 5’2 and 110 lbs – my dress is a sheath.  I found that the sheath style was really flattering and I didn’t feel like I was being swallowed up.

I also decided to just go for it and went the ballgown route.  I have no regrets!  Can’t wait until it’s finished being altered!  It will actually flare out a little more toward the bottom because of the petticoat.

I am 5’4″ around 100lbs

@heathuhhhhwebbbb:  You are a perfect example of the beautifully tattood still elegant bride. That ink is awesome!

@khaleesi:  I didn’t like fit and flare too much on me, or mermaid, because it just looked weird when I got cut off at the bottom. I liked what empire waist did to my silhoette but I was afraid I looked too “maternity.” I liked dropped waist in person but then on camera they made my legs look short! Ball gowns were way too overwhelming, but I think they can work on short girls if that’s your style (not my style at all). I ended up with a natural-waist sheath/a line and I think it worked best/made me look most proportional!  it of course needs to be hemmed like a foot at the bottom haha, and the bust is way too big

5’3″/130lbs (yikes! Hoping to drop 15 lbs by the big day)

THE dress!

Funny thing—I thought this style dress was going to make me look super short and originally thought I wanted a ball gown. Classic example of “you never know until you TRY!” Super excited.

@canarydiamond:  Thank you! I almost went with a satin mermaid, a petite favorite as this thread proves true haha. I felt really gorgeous in it, buuuuut I didn’t feel like a bride. When else can a girl wear a ball gown?!

@khaleesi:  I’m 5’4″, which in the US is considered average, but I wear petite sizes in pants because my legs are so short, so I thought I counted!

I went with an A-line gown with a natural waist. It’s like it was made for my body shape! Not so much for my height, though.
