Hey Bees!! I have the HARDEST time finding cute dresses, and I need a few coming up for weddings, and our honeymoon. I am wondering where all the other Petite bees find cute (affordable) dresses? Everything either hangs/looks weird on me, or is way too expensive. I am 5’3, 115lbs & b-cup… Can you all help? Please and thank you!!

Loft has a nice petites section, there’s more stuff avilable online than in the stores. They always have cute dresses. Wait until one of their 40% off everything weekends.

I second Loft. As well as J Crew which has petite sizes, too.

MrsJBtoB: We sound a similar size, I am 5’3″ 110lbs and an AA/A cup depending on the brand/cut. In all honesty I just shop in the juniors section at Ross/TJ Maxx/Sears/Kohls/Rue 21. It’s harder to find non-party/teenager like dresses, but I usually just wade through them all anyway. I know certain styles look horrible on me and just stay away from those. Usually the super short dresses aren’t off limits because they are made for longer legged ladies so I try those on and have had a few nice surprises..
I’ve tried shopping in adult departments (ladies/petites/etc) but everything is still too large on me in one place or another so I’ve given up and decided it’s the juniors section at least until I hit 35 or my body decides to make some changes… Another option would be to get any dress that you feel looks good and is a relatively close fit and then take it to a tailor to have it taken in (easier with no beading/frills/layers). I’ve done this with mutliple dresses and it’s usually not too expensive unless it’s a formal gown or something….

The XS size in Lauren Conrad and Simply Vera Wang brands at Kohl’s are usually petite enough for me and have very cute dresses! The XS in some of their other missess brands not so much.

BeckyS0: I do the JR’s section often too, haha. But like you said sometimes it is hard to get away from the party/teenage dresses!! I hate still being in those sizes.. I am pretty sure my nieces are going to outgrow me soon! lol
amberback: Ellicott: wedding08.2015: Thanks ladies!! I will look!! I always tend to find things at the nicer stores – ann taylor/express… but they tend to be really pricey. Sales are great tho 🙂

MrsJBtoB: I am 5’2″, about 114 lbs, 34C (measurments are about 34-26-34). I do very well at Forever 21 and Rainbow for cheap dresses. I love modcloth, I wear a lot of pinup styles because they flatter my figure so well. I also do well at urban outiftters, and sometimes I can score something good in juniors sections (although often the designs are immature). AG Jeans and Miss sixty are my go tos for jeans. I don’t even bother with most of the chain stores (target, gap, etc, because even the smalls are way too big for me).

Im 5’1′ 100lbs and have to admit I shop in the juniors department bc it just fits soooo much better! I do have a hard time finding nicer more mature looking dresses this way though. I say check out Windsor..those dresses tend to fit me better and they have a lot of options as far as style goes. Also, try Nordstroms Rack.

I lost a ton of weight in the past two years and I’ve only recently started wearing dresses again, but I’ve gotten so tiny that I’m having a hard time finding anything age appropriate! I found a Simply Vera Wang Petite dress on clearance at Kohl’s that I wore to a wedding. It was a 0P and fit me perfectly – I’m 5′ at about 98 lbs and my measurements are around 31-24-32. Otherwise, I usually buy junior size dresses – I like shopping at Macy’s or JC Penny’s for my nicer Junior dresses and Target for my more casual dresses. They all usually have good sales going on! I’ve also bought dresses online at Modcloth and Asos that fit me well.

i’m 5′, 88 lbs, and aa/a cup.
forever 21 is hit or miss with me, but i’ve gotten some cute stuff. i have to have them altered sometimes, but it’s usually simple stuff like shortening straps.
i’ve had the most luck at marshall’s/tjmaxx, ross, and thrift stores. target sends all their cast off to good will, so that’s a good place to check out. you can find brand new stuff for only a few dollars. last time i was there, there were a ton of cute dresses!
and i usually stick to the junior’s department, but i stay away from things that are covered in glitter and stuff like that. i’m not trying to look any younger, lol,

MrsJBtoB: I agree with those who mentioned LOFT. That is about the only place I can shop if I want something to fit right. Where I live, I actually have to go to a LOFT outlet store. They have a much larger selection of petites than the regular store. I’m 5’2″ 115lb and C cup (I also have a short torso) if that helps. All their clothes fit me perfectly, especially the dresses. Good luck!

I shop at Target online a lot and have gotten some great deals. I shop at Dillards when they have sales and then Forever 21 (when I’m not 21) but it’s become a hit or miss with Forever21. I’m shorter than you so it’s really hard for me.
