I’ve fallen in love with a Maggie. I’m only 5’0” so I definitely plan to order a petite. I know the overall length will be shorter, but will the torso be shortened as well?
How did your dress turn out?
Let’s see some photos!

I ordered a Maggie, I guess you’d say regular. I’m the same heigh as you, plan on getting the bottom cut.

I ordered a Maggie in the petite and it’s about 2-3 inches shorter and 1/4 inch per size shorter in the torso (or that’s what I was told at least).

I am a 5’2″ bride, and I ordered Shania:
I talked to the sales associate about “petite” size and she said that I shouldn’t worry about ordering petite since I tried on a sample size 6 (I ordered a size 4 since I am in between a 2 and 4) and the 6 hit me right where I wanted it to. She said that ultimately the length would have to be taken up regardless of if I ordered a petite or not. (Or with my heel size, it MIGHT be a little short depending.)
From how it was explained to me, you only want to get the petite if you have a shorter torso in proportion to your body or if you’re ordering a dress with sleeves (as the armpit gap is tailored for us petite brides). She also said that my “drop waist” style will not be dramatically effected by the “petite” measurements, which in a size 4 dress would have been 1/2 inch shorter, but since I was happy with where the size 6 hit me, I’m thinking I’ll be happy with a “regular” size 4.
My measurements are: (I think… might be +/- 0.5)
5’2″ (technically 5’2.5″ – hey every bit counts at our size!) wearing 4 1/2″ heels putting me at 5’7″. I am of average proportions for my size (meaning neither my legs nor torso are short/long).
I haven’t tried on my actual dress yet, but it should be in next month, so I will try to remember to update then too! Best of luck! Which dress are you looking at btw? I love looking a Maggies!

I got the petite length that is free of charge, I am 5’5″ and wore 4.75″ heels and it still needed to be taken up about an inch. I wore the Venecia. They have a true petite size which I believe, when I was buying my dress was an extra $150. Here’s me in my dress:

- Wedding: January 2013 - Harbourfront Grand Hall
I’m an Adorae bride, 5’2″ so clearly ordered a Petite. I can’t tell if their different lengths but here’s pictures of me in the sample (regular length but I’m standing on a podium that’s about 6″) and me in MY petite (bottom picture.)

I’m 5’5, and not planning on wearing anything taller than a kitten heel for my wedding. Fiance is a short little dude.
I ordered a petite Bernadette, and I could probably get away with a 2-3 inch heel still. I found the bodice to be really similar, but the straps seemed a bit shorter.

@OnceUponATime: At 5′ you will probably need additional length taken off even if you order a petite cut. You can also order 4″ or 5″ for an additional charge of $50. I would ask that the store you are considering buying from call the Maggie rep for there store and find out for sure what the cut on the torso is because it veries from dress to dress. Some of the dresses are cut 61″ hollow to hem and some of them are cut 63″ hollow to hem that is where the difference comes in. Ask the consultant do some checking for you the Maggie reps I have worked with are great and always very helpful. What dress are you thinking about?

I don’t have a full length pic, but I am 5’4″ and ordered the petite that is 3″ shorter in length (at no charge). The consultant told me that this petite length is just shorter off the bottom (so the torso length would be the same as the regular length). She said there was an option to get a 5″ shorter dress, but that there would be a $150 charge for that.
I wore 4′ heels with the dress and it hit perfectly on me. I ordered a size 6 (I wish I had sized down because I lost weight and it was a bit big on me) and the style was Doreen.

I’ve heard such mixed expressions! I’m in love with the 2012 Camden.. with a belt and no straps! When I see the photos without the belt, I feel like it’s missing something.
It’s a bit of a dropped waist that hits just a tad too low on me (then again, the sample was a twleve!) Some say it will be shorter, some say it won’t!
The consultant told me the same thing. The seamstress said it’s actually easier on her if I don’t order a petite, because the petite only has a shorter front, the train is still the same.
