Ugh, I never have good experiences at pharmacies.  The one near me is basically incompetent…  But really, why should they be asking you about changing prescriptions – that’s a topic between you and your doctor…

I hate dealing with pharmacies. I moved and wanted to move my perscription to the one closer to my house, and they claimed they couldn’t process the change for two months! I would be super annoyed if they were asking me questions like that.. its really not their business.

It IS their business. The pharmacist is responsible for getting you the right medication and making sure any changes do not affect your health, as well as dealing with SO much insurance BS that would probably make you rip your hair out after 5 minutes.

People thinking something is between you and your doctor and not your pharmacist is the problem we are having right now. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, nutrionists, etc have to all know the big picture in order to provide you with the care you need.

Sorry, mini rant from working in the pharmacy.

Back on topic: The pharmacist probably asked also because, believe it or not, doctors write Rxs for things their patients know nothing about or did not authorize. I have ladies come in with new BCP Rxs and they get a new type of pill and are like “….those aren’t my pills.” “it’s what the doctor wrote for.” “Whaaaat that’s wrong!” and then WE get bitched out until we can get ahold of the stupid doctor, who takes like a 2 hour lunch (pharmacists, except at Target, don’t get lunches, By The Way.) that ends up being a 3 hour lunch half the time…

@AB Bride:  in regards to your last paragraph, either you got a very incompetent pharmacist, or you were actually speaking to a technician. Ugh, I’m so sorry you’ve had bad pharmacy experiences!
