I inquired at the Loews and Sofitel and both had EXCELLENT customer service when we were deciding where to book. We dealt with Colleen Dunleavy at the Loews and Marla Barnshaw at Sofitel. Both women were fantastic. In the end, we decided to go with the Sofitel simply because of the location, but Loews was willing to throw in extra perks and the rooms were slightly less expensive. Both are willing to give out gift bags without an extra charge. My wedding hasn’t occurred yet so I can’t speak to actual execution, but I can only say wonderful things about both locations during the inquiry/”negotiation” process. Good luck!!

@elisapros:  I used the Loews for my wedding this past June. We also worked with Colleen and she was very nice and helpful. Our guests liked the hotel and we even got a special surprise gift and champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room for the wedding night. The hotel gave out gift bags for free (although we asked them to give 1 per person and they messed up and gave 1 per room; we fixed this on our own by giving out the remaining bags). Other that that we were glad we went with Loews. We also did a brunch there that was really good. My husband also negotiated some of the costs down before we booked, so definitely try to do that.

@elisapros:  We have rooms blocked at The Westin and Softiel. They’re a few blocks from eachother (and our venue) but have a different style. Both places were giving us a decent deal so we figured we’ve give our guests a choice.

Re Sofitel – we went by to look at their suite options. If your guests block there and you pay the regular rate, you get bumped up to a suite. Great for getting ready, storing your crap, etc. We went to see them & to see if we wanted to stay there or the Westin. There are a lot of different suite levels and some of them are quiiiite swanky. If you can get them to comit (depending on availability) it’s a great deal.
