I need your advice (again). I’m using a $7 phone that I bought in college before I had a job. It’s kind of crappy, it won’t show names on incoming calls or texts unless it’s a frequently used number (we’re talking, mom, Fiance, best friend only). BUT: it’s indestructible! I’ve left it in my shower caddy about three times, dropped it a billion, and it keeps working! Miraculous! Plus, it has this awesome flashlight on it. Not to be stupid, but I think I would prefer the flashlight over even a cell phone camera (which it doesn’t have).
But, I’m thinking of upgrading and getting a ‘real’ phone. It’s definitely in the budget, so that’s not a concern, but I’m worried I’ll miss my little gray chunk of plastic. But then again, the Android is so cool, and it’s kind of everything I would want in a phone (minus the flashlight, but I hear there’s an app for that!).
Does anyone have an Adroid or have phone advice in general?

All of the smart phones these days have flashlight apps that make the big screens a bright white, if that helps. I’m a hard-core iPhone user, I can’t imagine having anything else. I literally use my phone for everything….email, grocery lists, entertainment, scheduling, it’s amazing. If you switch, you’ll never look back.

I have the Motorola Droid and I LOVE IT! In fact, I am on it right now writing this to you. It is great to have a camera and videocamera. Plus there are all these free apps and games. You can access any site including Facebook. Definitely worth it!

Have you heard about the new wateproof phone they have at Verizon? It may be a nice new phone for you but still indestructable. I think they have a flip version and a slide version (with a full keyboard for texting). I think they are made by Casio.

I LOVE my droid (Verizon). I initially thought about switching to AT&T for the iphone, but my friends who have it have A LOT of problems with dropped calls. And we live in LA, so it’s not like we’re in an area with few towers, etc.

I think it just depends on your preferences. I’m not technology savy so it would be silly for me to get a phone I don’t know how to use, I just have one that makes calls, texts, and takes pictures, and I’m happy with it.
