We don’t have rules. But I could sleep through a bomb going off, so he watches TV, uses his phone, whatever. I just sleep through it usually lol.

sensoda :  We don’t bring screens (phone, tablet, laptop, etc.) into our bedroom at home. We came up with this together about a year ago. Occasionally we forget and remind each other. It doesn’t bother me when SO says “hey no phones in the bedroom.” I enjoy feeling like we have our little sanctuary.

We don’t always stick to this when we are travelling, it’s more about our bedroom at home.

sensoda :

I have my phone  next to the bed  – not entirely  sure why actually as I don’t use it before morning.  I think it dates from when someone was very ill and I was always half expecting ‘the’ call.

H. leaves his in the living room and we have never had a TV in the bedroom by mutual agreement. But we recently went overseas  and luxuriated in Foxtel in bed!

We don’t have any phone rules. I usually will have my headphones in and fall asleep watching something on my phone. It helps me avoid the spiral of anxious thoughts I can get at night if I have a show on.

My husband will sometimes watch something on his phone before going to bed. Sometimes we watch something together.

We both use our phones whenever we’d like. We have a huge tv in the bedroom & watch “House Hunters” or some other show before sleeping, typically. Cuddling while watching tv is divine.

sensoda :  We don’t have rules. We just use common courtesy.

No rules around here.

Dh doesn’t bring electronics to bed.  It’s just not what he does.  I’m not a normal sleeper, so I always have my IPad with me upstairs since I only sleep in short bursts.

Overall, I think there are generational issues in play in our case.

sensoda :  No where in my post did I say anything about the way you treat your husband. I spoke for my perspective for my relationship on the topic you asked for personal thoughts. It’s my viewpoint for my relationship so if you’re applying it to yours that’s on you.

We turn the tv off at 10 and have at least an hour doing something just us two without phones or tv or anything.

sensoda :  No rules. I read e-books on my phone before bed and so does Darling Husband. We rarely go to bed at the same time though because of his snoring.

I’m just asking… but no tv or electronics? Do you play scrabble or something?… it just sounds so incredibly boring. Unless we’re both super tired,  I can’t imagine that working for us.

My husband and I both use our phones for our alarms, but I know one of our co-workers and his wife leave their phones downstairs in the kitchen to charge overnight.

sensoda :  I was referencing in the bedroom. Unless you’re entertaining friends in the bedroom & doing some cooking there, as well… I believe you mistook my question.
