I think this is also called fluorescence in diamonds, but I’m not sure. If it is, is pretty common. Some people don’t like fluorescent diamonds as they can sometimes seem milky, while other people think it’s an added benefit for lower colored diamonds, as they can appear to be of a higher color.

I love my ring for many reasons, but the fact that it literally glows makes me adore it that much more.  I carry around a little black light in my purse so that I can appreciate my diamond in different ways.

tbenjamin4884 :  Thank you!  The florescence does make it continue to glow in the dark! That picture was taken in the closet (I edited out the FI’s shoe…).  It only lasts a few seconds, but it is an incredible thing to watch.
