I made my honeymoon album on mypublisher.  I’ll share the link if you want to see it, but it’s not a wedding album so I am not sure how helpful it will be.  My biggest complaint with mypublisher is that the tempaltes can’t be customized, so if your albums is more than a few pages, the layouts start to look a bit cookie cutter.  I wasn’t happy with the pages either, they are thin, and smudge and bend very easy.  I actually bought 2 copies because the one I showcase on our coffee table looks worn from so much use.  My second copy never gets touched and is on my bookshelf with other photobooks I have made.

Not sure if this qualifies as a coffee table book, but I made our album in Adoramapix. I’ve seen fantastic ones done by other brides using the templates and graphics, but I’m not so creative so I just arranged the photos on a simple white layout. Not very flashy, but I think it lets the photos stand out more that way:

I have not used AdoramaPix, but it seems to have the thickest pages and the most flexibility with the templates.

I’m enjoying seeing all the DIY books.  I’m so excited.

@meliss: and @melisslp:…so you guys made these yourselves on the computer and you are able to request a hardcopy of them to be sent to you?  Are they expensive?  I know pro photographers are charging arms and legs for them…

@katieebee: Yes, on Adoramapix you can upload your pics, design the album for free, and you are charged when you order a print copy. Pricing depends on the size and number of pages. I think they start around $40-$50? I got the biggest size at 12×12 with the maximum number of pages (76) so mine came to $190. They also occasionally have sales or coupons when you first sign on. It’s not a flushmount album and I’ve read that it’s not the same quality as a pro-album, but I’m very happy with our book. The print quality is great, the pages are thick and sturdy, the cover is glossy and looks beautiful and the pages lay flat. For me the number of photos was the most important factor and there’s no way we could afford a pro album with 300+ pictures.

@katiebee – Picaboo works very similar to Adoramapix.  They have SOOO many options for album covers, types of pages, number of pages, designs, colors etc.  Just like Adoramapix, the price depends on the size and the number of pages.  I chose to get small leatherbound albums with flat pages for our parents and they were about $45 each.  I was lucky though, because Picaboo was having a promotion of buy one get one for 50% off prior to the holidays.  I think you can’t go wrong with either company.  I really liked mine and Meliss’s album is lovely too!!!

I loved the scrapbooking options that mixbook gives!  I created photo albums for both sets of parents on there.  Here are some pages from those books:

I’m planning on really physically scrapbooking the albums for my hubby and I, but I did very much enjoy creating these books for our parents!  I’m not sure they qualify as coffee table though… they are 100 pages long!  o.O

I love looking at everyone’s albums!  Great jobs!  🙂

Oh and @Katiebee – for our 100 page album, we’ll be paying about $100 depending on the deal running when we finalize everything.  Just recently mixbook was offering buy one get one free, so it would have cost even less had I had them finalized by then!
