I’m thinking it would probably be easiest to tie the ribbons to a dowel or a rod. From there, I’d secure the string or dowel to some kind of frame–like two long pieces of wood–or PVC pipe!!

(found this image on pinterest but it wouldn’t link to the blog)

If you make a frame like that, you could wind some ribbon around it to hide the pipe. And then you would cut the ribbon to be the height of the frame or the height of the frame x 2 and tie each ribbon halfway at the top.

nikkikeesee:  You can make a pipe and drape frame.

You could also simply use a portable coat rack on top of a wood riser if your venue has these available. You want it to be at least 7 feet so it is taller than your tallest guest.

For my ribbon backdrop, I tied ribbon on a stick, then attached twine and hung the sticks on sliders that were already on the walls of my venue. Is there any way to hang them on something at your venue?

nikkikeesee:  they are just from trees, maybe 3 ft long. The ribbon is also about 3ft long, maybe a bit longer. My mom made them so im not completely sure how muh she spent…I know these sell on etsy for around $70 per banner.
