There are a lot of places to have photo books printed for significantly less than $300. I’m going to do our books through Mixbook (although off the top of my head shutterfly, tinyprints, snapfish, adorama, etc, all do photobooks as well) – sign up for their emails and they have sales going all of the time. Mixbooks start at $20 or so for 10 pages, and they have all sorts of options for layouts and their online builder is pretty easy to work with.

I’d DIY a photobook, like PP said, there’s lots of great places to do them cheap.  I’d definitely do a photobook over album, I’m actually going backward in time to make photobooks out of pictures I have printed and tossing the prints and albums.

I’ve done this deal it turned out a great.  They SW is super easy to use and totally customizable pages.  I actually bought this deal twice more to do some vacation books.  I do the basic one, and this can get you a 40 page 12×12 I think (comprable to any basic shutterfly/mixbook/etc site) , you can check the pricing on their site.  They have fancier books too.

Artisan slate is another popular one lately, but I haven’t tried them out yet.

Google coupons for photobooks. And sign up for Shutterfly and Snapfish as they sometimes send discounted or even FREE books (you pay shipping.) I have never paid more than $15 for a 8×11 photobook and they make GREAT gifts.

I actually ordered my guestbook today from Shutterfly for FREE (paid $8 shipping) from a coupon from Macys when we went and registered. They may still offer this as well. Something to at least look into.

I second Artisan Slate. They are crazy reasonable and very good quality. I used Picaboo once and their shipping/service was terrible. I almost didn’t have a gift to give my husband on our wedding day!
