I see groupon or weddingful deals on photobooths all the time. I’d shop around for a coupon and get one.

@AirForceWife78:  I couldn’t even imagine before my wedding how big of a hit our photobooth would be!  The attendents had to re-fuel for more paper and ink, and there was always a line of people waiting to go in all night!  Since it was in the reception room no one had to leave the party, and with all of the props we got some GREAT shots!  It was a huge hit for us!  I also think it was good for people who aren’t big dancers, and people could also paste their pics in a scrap book and leave us a handwritten note which I really love!

ETA: I wanted to mention that my photobooth was free since BIL’s carnival catering company has a few photobooths and he gave it to us for free.  But if I had known ahead of time about how big a hit it would be I’d have paid the money for it.  I’ve never seen a photobooth at a wedding I’ve attended.

Where I live, I have never seen a photobooth so to me it is totally not necessary. Nobody here would miss it. But in your area if a lot of people do it, sure why not! But shop around for a deal for sure.

I just can’t justify the cost. If I could, I would do it though. As of now, can’t/don’t want to pay the amount

Honestly, it is probably a waste of money. My Future Mother-In-Law insisted on it, because her and her friends got a kick out of it at one of the weddings they went to. Plus we majorily skimped on photography. I am hiring her on a hourly basis….so it was either the photo booth or tossing disposable cameras on the tables to catch all our guests.

It probably depends on your crowd. If they entertain easily then it will probably get alot of use! Plus I know there will be alot of drinking going on, so I am interested to see what we get. If I am mean enough, I might just post them on facebook! Laughing

I got mine for $575 plus tax includes the props, copies of pics for us and the guests, and we got a scrap book totaling around $600. I’m so excited for the wedding! I did think $1,000 was too much though so I was glad when I found it for that price…  I agree with Cady i’m excited to see the pictures!

I definitely think its worth the money.  All your guests will love it and have so much fun with it!  I would shop around a bit more though, I have never heard of it being that expensive before.

One thing I knew I wanted at my wedding was a photo booth and guests loved it so I say it’s worth it…

Months ago, a photobooth was one of the things that I absolutely HAD to have.  When we started getting price quotes for them (in the same range that you’ve quoted), all was well, but as weddings tend to do, things kept adding and adding up.  In the end, we decided to forego the photobooth, even though I know it would have been a big hit.

We’ve been to weddings with the backdrop/spotlight and lots of props, and honestly…I don’t like those at all.  I think it’s just personal preference about the aesthetic and I don’t like the idea of props.

I did want a photobooth so badly, but it’s not so much that I couldn’t justify the cost it’s just that….something had to go.  I felt that having live music at our cocktail hour would have made a bigger impact, and I so badly wanted a bluegrass band for that hour, I decided to splurge on the band and skip the photobooth ๐Ÿ™  I don’t feel super sad about it, but if there was an extra grand laying around, I’d definitely book one.  I don’t think I’ll miss it in the end…between our fabulous photographers and my 6 billion family members who always have a camera attached to their faces, I’m sure we’ll have lots of photos to laugh, cry, and smile about!

We are making our own with a digital camera and a remote control.  I am making (maybe buying) a back-drop and gathering props.  Bonus is our venue has tons of funny hats in the bar for us to use.

It was one of the first things we booked and it was a huge hit. It was an actual booth with curtain, etc. The guests got a copy, another copy went in a scrapbook that they all signed, and we got a DVD of all the pics. My 88 year old grandma got in there with my sister and we’ve got a priceless picture of her in a tiara with a feather boa blowing a kiss at the camera. That picture alone made it worth it!

It’s also funny to watch the progression of the pictures as people got more and more drinks into them. At the beginning it’s all cute couple pics and a little bit of kissing. The end of the night is represented by like 8 people crammed in the booth with drinks in hand making faces and doing weird poses. Priceless!
