I love how the bees like Mrs. Cream Puff and Mrs. Cherry Pie (among many others) did photo sharing cards. I want to do them too, but I kind of think it’s weird to give wedding guest access to my email account too, since websites like picasa and flickr are connected to gmail and yahoo email accounts. Does anyone know where they can make an account to share photos without an accompanying email account? (I looked on picasa and flickr and can’t figure out how…if you know how and can pass on that knowledge, I’d LOVE that.)
Also, I’m not the most computer savvy. Does anyone have a cool template to make an these awesome photo sharing cards? I’m muddling my way though them right now, but would love to save some time…

I’ve also recently been looking high and low for these same things. I think I’ve finalized my text for the cards, and will be ordering those from Vista Print (250 business cards free, you just pay shipping).
I like the http://www.shutterfly.com share sites, which is what we’re using. Our card text looks like this…
Got Digital Photos?
We’d love to see your photos from our wedding!
Please upload them to our online album
Hope that was helpful! Looking forward to seeing others’ suggestions, as well…

Thanks for the response! I’ve basically "borrowed" Mrs. Cherry Pie’s wording but I’ve been trying to make my cards on Illustrator. Problem is, I have NO IDEA how to use it. Thanks for the tip on vista print, I may check that out.

I signed up for a flickr pro account after reading a few other posts on the boards about it because you get unlimited uploads and storage. I read on flickr the other day that you can create a group and people can upload photos to the group, but I think you have to have an account to add photos which would most likely be a hastle and you’d get less photos. For the password I created a seperate yahoo/flickr account from my normal yahoo email and made the password wedding related so guests won’t have to look for the information every time they want to log in.
For the cards I used moo (www.moo.com) and went with their mini moo cards. I had already created our own wedding logo so I put that on one side and the password information on the other. It was $20 for 100 cards. If you don’t have a design they have their own that you can choose from. I haven’t looked into their designs much but maybe they’d have something you’d like.
I worded mine very similar to miss pinot grigio…

I know how you feel. I was a little weirded out about having my signin used. I just created a new yahoo account. You don’t have to check the email or anything. I am just using ours for our share site. I made the username both our first names and the password was our wedding date. Easy, simple and it works great. I had set up a shutterfly account but it wasn’t as user friendly. I will likely upgrade to the pro account once it gets closer to the wedding. Good luck!

I setup a Shutterfly share account and it worked really well. You can set it up to have no password or set a password and login of your choosing. (If you want to see mine it’s: http://courtneyanderik.shutterfly.com/)
Alternatively, if you really like Picasa or Flikr, why not just set up a wedding related e-mail account especially for it? (ie [email protected])
Also, I used VistaPrints free business cards as my photo share card. They have built in templates and I just chose one that worked best (note: if there are areas in the template you don’t want to us, just leave it blank and it won’t show up).

I second LeiAnn for Moo mini-cards. I was thinking that before I read her comment! You can choose from pre-made designs and add your own wording.
As for your account info, I second JDH. Make up a new email account and pw that’s only for connecting to Flicker or Picasa. That way, if you do have any snoops, they’ll be disappointed!

Hey, thanks for all the posts! I knew I’d get great answers. I think I’m going to go with picasa and set up a wedding related email. You all rock!!
