I’m currently in the process of planning our engagement party (only 6 weeks, 3 days and 4 horus to go!!!) and I really want to do a slideshow of photos to play in the background over the course of the party, when I told my Bridesmaid or Best Man she asked if I was sure I didn’t want to do that for the wedding?… now I’m not sure when to do it. What do you ladies think? Should I just choose one? or can I do it for both?
I know slideshows are super cheesy but hey, I’m cheesy as hell!

I’ve only seen slideshows at weddings. But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having one at your shower if that’s what you want!
I think at the shower it would be more ‘background’ photos for people to glance at now and then. As opposed to at a wedding where the order of the photos is more specific (like usually pics of you guys as kids, teens, dating each other etc) and everyone watches the slideshow from start to finish.

I’d rather the phots just be more “background” I think. My Future Brother-In-Law got married in December and we all had to sit for 15 minutes watching a slideshow and I found it pretty boring having to stay still for that long after sitting still for so long during dinner and speeches.

We did a photoboard at our engagement party with the plans for the slideshow for the actual wedding but it’s your party, you can do whatever you like.

I like the idea of a photoboard, maybe I could do that at the wedding.. we’re having the reception outside so it would be easier to do than a slideshow!

I think that would be nice as a background. Then people can see photos of you guys and maybe it will spark conversations and stuff too! It can be interesting and entertaining without people feeling like they’re getting ‘bored’ of it. Hope you have lots of fun at your shower 🙂

I think it’s way overkill for an engagement party. Not really a fan of them at weddings either, but that would be the lesser of the two evils.
