Wedding photos look great when turned into a book, but beware what company you go with. I have had an absolutely nightmarish time ordering two copies of a book from Photobook America. Tomorrow will be two weeks from the day I began the process, and I am still bogged down. At every step of the way there has been a technical problem with the ordering process, which has been made five times worth by the nature of its customer support. It is strictly email, and you have to wait a day for an answer. There is no support phone line or chat line (their so-called chat line just channels questions to the regular email support). At one point, after sending a screen shot they requested, they wrote back after 36 hours just to ask for a second screen shot.
At this point we are finally!) past the technical barriers to placing the order, and we are bogged down regarding the payment. I bought a promo for $87 that would cover $250 worth of books , so long as it was one design. Since I wanted two copies of the same book, clearly this applied. Then they wrote back saying no. When I quibbled, they ignored me. When I went to put the payment through, nothing was deducted from the $256 total. I have now had to call my bank to stop the payment. I have notified them, and at some hour tomorrow I’ll get a short email back from them which may be marginally helpful, and then again perhaps not.
Photobook America, by the way, gives out no telephone number, physical address, and refuses to divulge the name of the CEO when asked. It is totally opaque.
