I went to a wedding in Sept that had a photobooth.  The booth printed out two copies of the pictures, one as a favor and then the couple had the other one put into a memory book, and you could write a little note.  It was a cute idea because a bunch of us hadn’t seen each other in a long time, so i walked out with updated pics of my friends and I, and they are hanging on my fridge.

I don’t think most people would throw out pictures.

****EDIT I mis read the poll question.  I do NOT think it’s tacky!!

We weren’t going to do favors at all, for the reasons you listed above, but now I’m pretty sure we are going to do a photobooth. I don’t think that anyone is going to look at the photostrip and be like, “oh this must be the favor.” But I don’t think that people notice or miss NOT having a favor, so having a photostrip is just a nice thing.

We’re having a photobooth. It’s a great thing to have in lieu of favors. Most guests wouldn’t throw out a picture of themselves, but are probably more likely to throw out, say, a candle..

@red_rose: I just noticed you’re from Ann Arbor. I dont know if you’re having you’re wedding in Michigan, but I rented a photbooth for a great deal if you’d like me to PM you in the info.

I’m doing this same thing! We’re having our wedding in Howell, MI at Crystal Gardens! We’re using Shutterbooth and they have a great deal going right now and it includes 200 bookmark sleeves, so this way the guests get all of their photos and then they have a bookmark too!

If your budget allows, I know that the bookmark sleeves are relatively cheap otherwise they also have acrylic frames for the strips. I’m going to use my bookmarks as the name placecard on each table.

Photobooth strips as favors DO NOT equal tacky! (I’m bias though)

I’ve seen this done PLENTY of times. It’s perfectly fine for the photos to be the party favor.  I have to agree with joy2011. When this does happen, I don’t notice that there aren’t any favors, and I just take my copy of the photo strip with me happily =) And we have not thrown any of them out either.

I feel like a lot of favors get tossed. Every wedding we have gone to with a photo booth has been a blast, so we had one ourselves. We even framed one of our pictures from a wedding!

We had a photo booth for our wedding and the photos were the favors. We also had small chocolates that were made by a friend of the family so we put a couple of those at each seat. This way if some people did not want to use the photo booth they still got a little favor. I’m totally for the photos as a favor!

Ahh!! I misread the poll I thought it said “photobooth as a favor?” and I hit YES! I didn’t see the tacky part.

It’s not tacky at all. Love it! I’m so over regular favors, bring on the fun!
