Holy cow, I’m surprised you gave her that long.  I would start looking for a new one ASAP.  Have you spoken to her on the phone at all?

You don’t have a whole lot of time to find someone else. I hope she comes through for you.

Sounds like you don’t have a contract, so I would start shopping around to find someone new asap.  No contract means that you are the one that has no protection or guarantee that you are going to get what you are expecting.  Find someone else is my advice.  Just let her know if a professional and polite way that you needed to move ahead with finalizing plans, and you felt as if she didn’t have the time/resources available. No hard feelings, just needed to find someone that could move ahead immediately with finalizing details in writing.

You should book someone new ASAP. I’m so sorry but this is much too flaky for a professional and you don’t need to be worried about this kind of thing.

Even if she does show up – I imagine you running into the same problem getting the photos from her.

Have you tried calling her? Maybe email isn’t her thing. My reception venue Groomsmen is HORRIBLE at returning emails, but will answer his cell phone or call back right away.

@gwynth: I’ve met some of the RIT photography majors and I think they would a resonable job- and I know they are moving in this weekend (a friend of mine is an RA there)

I highly doubt that photography is her job. No photographer (unless just starting out & doesn’t know any better) would shoot a wedding without a contract. I’ve never heard of being paid after the wedding, either. Maybe at the wedding, but almost all pros or even advanced amatures require a deposit.

It sounds like you have a verbal contract & that info confirming this was done through email. If she didn’t show up, you could sue her (not that I’m recommending this), but this is why you should always sign a contract, it protects you both.

Does she have a website? Feel free to PM me her website & I can review it, if you want.

Maybe you should actually call her and set up an actual coffee meeting. Of course I would have written her off a long time ago.

I would call her if you are in contract with her.  If not, I would look somewhere else.
