Hire a videographer who is actually a videographer, not a photographer with a video camera. I am a photographer who know how to shoot video and what I can do is miles away from what real videographers do. They are filmmakers. It’s two entirely different things!!

@candydots:  hi, i see you are in NY… where abouts in NY.

I wanted to refer you to my photographer and videographer. Tbey have amazing prices. We were on a budget…and where we live in Brooklyn, the prices can be outrageous.

We paid under $5K and got 2 photographers, 1 videographer, 9 hr coverage, all photos are edited and photoshopped. We also got to keep all our raw footage. We also had an engagement shoot.

They are Le Image Inc. Located in Dumbo Brooklyn.

I think a big factor should be whether you like their work or not, whether you book separately or together.  I will say that we hired our photog and video separately, and they didn’t seem to work together very well.  Sure they pow wow when they first meet, but it’s always going to be more challenging for two people who’ve never worked together before to sync up that day.  However, we loved each company’s work and did not find a company that offered both together whose style we loved as much.  Our photos turned out beautifully, but there were a few shots that our photog didn’t give to us at first, and she cited the videographers as part of the reason that they didn’t turn out as well.  But still that was only a handful of pics; I do not regret hiring them separately because I love their work so much!
