Our photographer blogged our wedding photos! I’m so happy with how they turned out. I’m especially happy that we did a first look together. It was so nice to take a moment together alone during the busy, busy day.
We had the wedding ceremony in a small theater and the bridesmaids had lanterns instead of flowers
The reception was in a heritage building and this was their first year doing weddings. The coordinator there was SO helpful and went out of her way to make sure everything ran smoothly. After the dinner I changed out of my big dress to a beaded cocktail dress for games and dancing.. so glad that I did. We had the venue until 3am and it was almost 4am before we got out of there. That would have been toooo long to be dragging around a giant dress haha.
Our vendors were all really really amazing. The photographer, day of coordinator and caterer did such a good job. We had a sit down dinner with a salad course, lasagna course, and then steak or chicken corodon bleu. I made my cakes and cupcakes the week of the wedding with the help of my mom and bridesmaids
I used these forums a lot during planning, and I’ve looked through so many other bees recaps. Excited to be able to post a link to my own 😀

julies1949: Thank you! The chairs were the splurge in our budget (the flowers were the ‘save’ with lanterns for the bridesmaids and inexpensive centerpiece flowers) . I knew I wanted extra chairs by the sweetheart tables because I’m always the one at weddings awkwardly standing or crouching to talk to the bride and groom during dinner. They worked really well.. we had people come and visit us through the whole dinner
peaseblossoms: Thank you! We planned everything indoors because Calgary weather is so crazy unpredictable
JessieFay13: Elcey: calysa: Thank you!
juicebar: cookiebride: Ha ha, I think he’s good looking too. He’s Chinese (born in Canada)
AMNDAPLZ: Our photographer uses that a lot for her first look shots and I love it too! She’s *so* talented haha. People definitely used the chairs to come and visit us during dinner. It was nice to get some one on one time with the guests
