We are paying $1200 for a photographer who had about 1 year of professional wedding photography under her belt. She is great… I am a photographer myself, and I have watched her progress through her early career via her blog and facebook (we were childhood friends), and I am confident she will do an amazing job. She is not giving me a discount, but I have a feeling her rate have increased since I signed the contract a year ago.
Look for someone with a bit of experience, who is still working on their professional portfolio.
Normally our photographer charges $3500, but she is a friend of the family, and is charging $1800. It’s a total deal.
Im in So. Cal. She used to be a photographer for the LA Times and she has a portfolio that includes sports stars and tons of celebrities. And of course loads of weddings. I feel quite fortunate.
we’re paying 1200, but she’s a friend. her packages start at around 2000 and go up from there.
I’m paying $3200 with a $12000 budget. It is definitely my “splurge” item.
We’re paying $3,000 for a photographer AND a videographer, which is an incredible deal for NYC!
We found this GREAT little gem of a studio in Brooklyn which offered package prices of all kinds. We really admired their portfolio & cinematography styled videos, but unfortunately, they were offered in their most expensive package due to a special lens.
We basically asked if they can work with us because we didn’t want to go anywhere else and they threw in the cinematography styled video for free!
Included in our package is 1 photographer, 1 videographer, an 8 hour photo/video shoot in full HD, a 20-40 minute wedding video shot & edited in cinematography style with our song selections, 800 color corrected images, an online photo gallery store, a wedding website, all high res photos/video on DVD with full printing rights, raw video footage on blu-ray.
My suggestion for those of you who also have a tight budget, see if your photographer can work with you based on what you can afford. It can’t hurt to ask!
