On the morning of, she was hired to arrive at 8 am to take getting-ready photos, detail shots, and a first-look. She was late and I tried calling and texting, but she didn’t answer. She finally called back at 8:45 am. She had forgotten. She was profusely apologizing. She said she would give me a full refund, $1,500.
She called a photographer friend of hers and said her friend would arrive at 9:15 am to try and take some photos. She said she would have to meet us at our ceremony location.
We were supposed to leave at 9:30 am to be there on time. It takes 30 minutes to get to our ceremony location.
Our ceremony was at 10 am, and we paid $1,000 to reserve our space for an hour. We also paid two musicians for that hour time slot that cost $400.
Her friend showed up around 9:20 am. This caused a delay since we had to take photos and whatnot.
We didn’t leave until 10 am (ceremony start time/reserve time).
By the time we arrived to our ceremony location, we only had 15 minutes to spare for our time slot. Everything felt rushed and I didn’t get to listen to the music we paid for, or take in the scenery.
We hired our photographer for 4 hours (8 am – 12 pm). She ended up working for 4 hours (10 am – 2 pm). She said she would give us a free photo session to make up for it.
It was a destination wedding, so that doesn’t really work well, since we’d have to pay to re-travel for a free photo session. She never brought up a full refund again.
I feel bummed because everything was so rushed, and there were morning moments you can’t recapture, I feel like we paid for stuff we didn’t get to enjoy.
She’s a nice lady. I haven’t seen the photos yet.
Am I out of line to ask for a full refund?
