As opposed to what? I guess I’m not sure what photographers used to offer.

We’re getting a disc with photos printable up to 4×6. Anything larger we have to print through our photographer.

Why wouldn’t you want high res images on a disc? 🙂

Most clients these days only want a disc which is pretty sad.  Photos look 100x better in print, and albums are awesome.  Odds are strong that when you get a disc you will look at it a couple of times and put it away.  An album lives on your coffee table forever and you get to show it to everyone.

We found the higher priced ones, who were usually also better quality photographers, tend to offer both discs and prints/albums. It’s the best of both worlds. I can get gorgeous enlargements through the photographer, but get smaller prints/gift photos printed through a consumer lab like Mpix. Maybe you could expand your search a bit.
