Okay so I need opinion if anyone has been in a similar situation. I hired an amazing photographer for the wedding – just one woman who works alone, but from the beginning told us she could contract out a second shooter if we wanted to add. We realized closer to the wedding date that two photographers would be best so they could cover both bride and groom getting ready in the morning and the many detailed shots around the venue, so we added to the contract for the original photographer to contract a second shooter. We had the original photographer for 12 hours (we even added two hours on) and the second shooter stayed probably around 8 hours. I got my wedding gallery back, and although the pictures are gorgeous, there were 850 edited photos. I noticed some shots were missing, like certain bridesmaid shots and a picture I asked them to take of my mom and I. When I wrote to the originalphotographer, she said “oh yes I have those!” and added them to the gallery. Then I noticed the second shooter posted two pictures on her Instagram that were beautiful and not in my gallery. I asked the original photographer for those shots as well and she added those to the gallery too. Now today, another week later, the second shooter posted yet another beautful shot that I didn’t get in my gallery (but I do have similar ones – but some angles are so much better than others!). It’s making me sad that there are probably more pictures that they have between them that I’m missing out on. I now feel like a pest asking my original photographer for yet another picture.
The contract clearly states that no raw photos will be given under any circumstances, and that the original photographer has the rights to all of the photos and I’m totally fine with that – but, it makes me feel sad when the second photographer is sharing shots I didn’t get. Has this happened to anyone? I feel so annoying at this point I don’t even know how to ask her about it. Thank you for any thoughts.
