I definitely think you need to tell your photog how you really feel. Aside from making you nervous, they are not professional at all. You don’t need more stress leading up to your wedding, and you especially don’t want to have to worry about not getting your pictures in a timely manner (or getting them at all).

You should be firm and get it all out on the table without worrying about jeopardizing your relationship. You hired him to do a service, now it’s up to you to make sure he actually does it!

Good luck, let us know how it turns out! 🙂

You definitely need to get in touch so you’re not fretting about whether or not he will show up!  I don’t think you can really withhold payment, but you can say “I’m not comfortable sending off this last check before I hear from you; I’m getting nervous that you might forget to come, it’s been so hard to touch base!”  If you say it nicely or in a way that sounds like, ha-ha, I am so crazy but I’m a bride and nervous!, he may not take offense.

It gives him the message that you are nervous, but lets him have an excuse.  You don’t need to make him feel guilty, just to correct the behavior.  That’s my 2 cents–good luck!
