My Fiance and I got our engagment pictures done on the 15th with a professional photograper who is also a friend of a friend. We haven’t communicated since. Would it be rude if I sent her a text saying something like, “Hey girl! I never asked for a timeline of when the engagment pictures would be done, I’m excited to see them! No rush I was just wondering!” or do you all think I should stop being so anxious and let her be until we hit the two or three week mark?
I am just being anxious I really want to see them!! Plus, I want to order my save the dates via vista print before my coupons expire in jan!!!

I think it’d be totally okay to contact her about a timeline, just so you know when to expect them to be done. And if you’re worried about them not being done in time to order STD’s, then maybe you could even ask to look through your pictures so you can pick one that you’d want to use, and ask her to get that photo ready first. I’m not a photographer, but I don’t see that being rude.

Your message sounds perfect. 🙂
I would be surprised if she gets offended.

Your message sounds great, I would do it through email though so you have something to track

I love your wording! Informal and low-pressure!

Okay so you guys pretty much think this is appropriate then?! I don’t want her to think I’m pushing her at all! I just really want to order those save the dates!

Don’t send a text. Email them to whatever their professional email address is and tell them politely when you need the photos in order to get your save the date order in on time. They really should have given you an idea of when the photos would be done, at least approximately. Now keep in mind that 11 days is super early for most professionals to turn over a portrait session. Usually it’s a 3-4 week lead time.

Emailing them at their address is more professional and plus, you have a record of the communication. I wouldn’t send a text either.
