I’m currently speaking with Miguel and Tracey of Diamond Street Photography. I’ve been forwarding emails to Fiance, and he remarked, “They are so considerate!” They couldn’t respond for a few days and Tracey apologized profusely even though it wasn’t necessary. Their rates are also amazing for the area ($2500). They did tell us that because our wedding is 2 years away, we will not be getting that price. They did say they’re working with couples getting married in the future to keep costs competitive but fair. Check them out – worth a shot, right?

I haven’t contacted him yet, but McShea photography also has a really competitive rate for the area!

We’re also using Miguel and Tracy at Diamond Street. So far, they’ve been amazing! We live in San Francisco and flew out to Philly to do our engagement shoot and it was so much fun! They’re super to work with and the shots are exactly what we were looking for. My Fiance was in the biz and was very particular about photography styles, and we loved what they did with our engagement shots and can’t wait to see how creative they are with the wedding. Here are our engagement shots: http://diamondstreetfilms.com/philadelphia-wedding-photographers-amy-and-matt/

We’re going with Emily Kight photography (http://emilykight.com/weddings.php). Her prices are incredibly reasonable (and include two photographers), and she does journalistic/wildlife shots in addition to weddings and engagements. Can’t wait to do our engagement session with her later this year!

@newcitylights:  I’m using Ashley Bartoletti (http://www.ashleybartoletti.com/).  Her pictures aren’t photojournalistic – I just think they’re beautiful.  She’s also really reasonable.  I love photojournalistic pictures but I am afraid they are going to look dated in 10 years.. maybe I’m weird.

I considered the following photographers

– Jenny Castro (www.jennycastrophotography.com)

– Tina Markoe (http://www.tinaphotos.com/)

– Brittany Lee (http://blphotographs.com/)

and ultimately went with LuRey Photography (lureyphotography.com)

I’m also using Ashley Bartoletti. We’ve already had our engagement photos and they are perfect. I’ve known Ashley for 15+ years and she is amazing. My fiance and I were nervous about our engagement photos — we’re shy and not good with “posed” photos. She made us feel super relaxed and we really enjoyed ourselves. Her prices are very reasonable and the whole experience has been fantastic. I can’t wait for photos on our wedding day! Good luck in your search!

@LaurenHemphill:  @chrystie:  How much do Ashley Bartoletti’s pacakages start at? I can’t seem to find pricing on the website but I like her photos.

@PinkPanda:  The package I have is $3k and includes 8 hours, 2nd shooter and engagement session.  I didn’t need albums, etc. because  it was more important to me to get the 2nd shooter and the full 8 hours than albums.  I know she’ll work with you though if you want more/less coverage, no engagement session etc.

we are using spark photography – they’re a husband and wife team…we havent had our engagment pictures yet but they are wonderful – we really felt comfortable after meeting them which was a big deal to us. & they will fit your budget we designed a package a bit over what you’re looking to pay, but one of their other options will work for you.

Hi hive! Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I am a wedding photographer (my husband is my second shooter) and I’d love to work with some bee readers! I love recommending other vendors as well if you guys need any <3

My site is http://www.shannoncollins.com

I’m going to check out the photographers you recommended too since I love networking with other local photographers.

@amyj1276: The engagement photos you’ve shared are really lovely.

Congrats everyone on your engagements!
