I also think that most of the pictures of that photographer are staged. I don’t really understand what it is about them that you don’t like/how your vision is different? Do you have some pictures of what you’d prefere?

Is there a specific photographer in your area that has a portfolio that is more your taste? If not, it doesn’t hurt to look around and ask about prices and availability. In the end you should be happy with the photos and photographers cost quite a lot, so I think it’s worth it to choose one you feel sure about.

Most of those photos look staged/posed to me so I don’t understand what you are looking for.

mikuru :  I’m a landscape photographer, but get asked occasionally to do outdoor family portraits for friends and family.  The warm hue you’re not liking could be the type of camera, ot the ohotographer may add warm hues in post processing. I use a Nikon, which throws cool tones, for example. My friend’s Canon is warmer. Let the photographer know what you want by showing examples. My last shoot was of a pregnancy announcement, and the momma to be had her own ideas she found on Pinterest. She was thrilled with her shots because she told me exactly what she wanted. Gather some ideas, and present them to your photographer. I’m sure they’ll be happy to make sure you’re happy. A good photographer is always looking for new ideas, and will be receptive.

Wow I can’t believe you think the groom is less important than the photographer.

Many photographers take a combination of both, ours very much leans towards capturing the day naturally but we still did a period of posed photos and they directed us with what to do. Have you even met your photographer yet?

I’m confused about what exactly you mean by wanting nice staged pictures, looking at your photographer’s portfolio most of those will be staged by the photographer.

I don’t understand why a photographer could change the outcome of your wedding more than any other vendor.  Surely the officiant would be more vital here.  Plus don’t underestimate the caterer and DJ’s ability to set the mood.  A photographer will record how you look, but there should be much more than that to your memories.

But I’m going to guess maybe some of your feelings are being lost in translation here?

Can you post some examples of what you’re looking for, and explain why you don’t think your current photographer can match that?
