(Closed) Photographer says our full balance is due one month BEFORE the wedding…normal?

All of my vendors want their final payment about 30 days in advance.  My venue is 2 weeks, I believe.  Totally normal.

Yep, ours was a month before. It is a little nerve wracking to make such a huge payment before seeing anything but hey they are professionals. 🙂

That is normal. Mine is due 30 days before event date. Its all in the contract. The contract protects both of you.

My photographer is asking for the same thing and it’s in the contract we signed. Sounds normal!

I think that’s pretty standard. All of our vendors requested the balance be paid in full somewhere between a month to two weeks before the wedding. I raise an eye brow when I hear of some photographers or videographers allow the full balance paid upon receipt of the final product. Not sure why I think it’s odd, though.

Ours is to be paid in 1/3 installments, with 1/3 due at signing, 1/3 due two months before the wedding, and 1/3 due 2 weeks before.

Normal. Ours is due 30 days before our wedding. We intend to pay them off months in advance.

I just had to make 3 final payments – florist, DJ and event decor company – this week. I think it’s normal for wedding vendors to be paid in full prior to the event.

My photographer happens to be 2/3 due 1 week before, with remaining 1/3 due after we get the CD of photos.

I guess my photographer is in the minority.  Our payments were broken up into thirds and the final third was due to prior to us receiving our CD/Album.

All of our other vendors was full payment a month or so before.

My 75% payment is due in mid-June and the wedding is in mid-September.
