- Wedding: December 2012
I’m really stressing out (and I am NOT a stressor – especially about wedding stuff!)…
Our wedding is in just over 2 months. We originally booked a photographer within weeks of being engaged (which was in June 2011) – mainly because of her pretty affordable prices (about $2200 total). I had also been to a consultation with my dream photographer, but decided against her as her prices were a bit higher. I had a freak out moment a couple months later and ended up canceling the first contract… and losing $500 in the process. After a lengthy discussion with my mom, we ended up going with my “dream photographer” and put the required $1000 deposit down.
That was about 9 months ago. I haven’t heard anything from her since that time – which isn’t really a big deal, because I only emailed her some picture ideas once, and it was okay for her to not respond. But in the time that has passed, we’ve had some personal issues pop up (did I mention that her daughter has been a good friend for years and is a BM in our wedding?). I thought the photographer would be professional enough to not let her personal life stand in the way of her business… but both me and my mom have been calling/emailing her for a week now trying to set up a date for my bridal pictures and she just isn’t responding. I know she’s on her computer – I watched her post 1000 things on FB tonight!
All this stress just makes me want to get out of the contract, but the ONLY thing I can find in it that might help is a sentence that says, “The parties agree to cheerful cooperation and communication for the best possible result within the definition of this assignment.” I don’t know what to do if she just isn’t gonig to respond to us at this point?? I’ve got to get my bridals booked! I’m a 4th year medical student living 4 hours away from home and this is all in the middle of my interview season for residency… I really don’t have time to be playing a “come and find me” game! Any advice??
