@alishaloo:  One more phone call / email, and then I’d shop for someone else. People who are friendors / vendors aren’t the best people to work with because they get too relaxed and comfortable.

Huh?

You said on facebook you were booking your ex? She probably thinks you don’t need her anymore. I would talk to her about whether or not she is ok with working with a second photographer who she hasn’t chosen. I’m pretty sure that usually when you hire two photographers they are from the same company and one is the assistant to the other. It can be difficult to coordinate if they don’t know eachother, and to get good coverage of your wedding they are going to have to plan out who is taking which shots.

As for how long should you wait to respond, how long has it been since she said she would send the agreement?

@alishaloo:  Most photographers have exclusivity clauses in their contracts. That means if you hire them they are the only pro photographer allowed to photograph the wedding (if you want a second shooter you can hire one through them). This protects them from liability when some other person you also hired is fighting for the same shots as they are and they miss something important because of it. I would never be ok with a couple bringing on a random second photographer because it’s vital that we know each other and can work together. Otherwise no one knows what they are responsible for shooting and it’s a big huge mess.

Most professional photographers have in their contract that they are to be the only photographers at the event…

Also, like someone else said, she may have thought you didn’t need her anymore if you were booking someone else…

And… your ex? at your wedding? taking your pics? Crazy!! Is your Fiance ok with that?

It sounds like she may be offended and not know how to bring this up with you. Or, she thinks she is unbooked. either way, it sounds like a big misunderstanding, and Im sure clearing the air will do wonders.  🙂

good luck!

@alishaloo:  Ah, it just sounds so weird! Obviously, there are different dynamics that make it different, lol.

……wait. This is a different person from the girl who took your engagement pictures right? Because I wouldn’t hire the person who did your epics again.

Yeah…don’t post that kind of thing on facebook…social media is dangerous that way.
