If it’s not in your contract, he has no ground to stand on.

Double check your contract and make sure, but like Miss Tattoo said, not in the contract = you can choose whomever you want!

What a DoucheCanoe! Ugh! Way to make our Bee’s life complicated Mr. Photographer! I say DITTO to what hte PP said, check your contract, and make your wants/needs known. =)

Let him be a diva and find someone else. If you are feeling this way about him, how do you think you are going to feel around him the day of your wedding. Sure, he may take the best photograhs in the world, but if he’s a total douchebag then why would you want him there on your happiest day. I’d rather have a photographer just starting out who clicks with me than a pro who makes me want to drop kick him.

@Miss Tattoo: Definitely. If in your photographs you’re miserable because your photographer is an asshole, what’s the difference how good the quality is?

@kankanwed: If you are going to keep him, tell him very firmly that his demands are not listed in the contract and that you are going to hire the videographer that you want. If he has a problem with this then he is breaking the contract and you want a full refund.

if he is a jerk. I would be worried to upset him by saying that its not in the contract and you are hiring whoever you want. He has the photos of your wedding in his hands. I would be worried he would be vengeful and take bad photos to spite you. Is the videographer he is suggesting bad??

I think your photographer needs to work on this. However, I can see how the photographer could be worried about using a videographer he’s never met before. Both of them are trying to get very specific shots (like the vows, the kiss, your FH’s expression as you walk down the aisle) and each can easily ruin the other’s shot if they don’t communicate well.

Good luck!
