I know you’re excited, but yes, I think you’re being a little impatient.  🙂 I’d wait at least another month before you hint at it.  My friend/photographer took 2 months to get mine to me, and that’s pretty normal for a turnaround time I think.

My average turnaround for a gallery is around 6-8 weeks, in the height of the season it’s usually closer to the 8 week mark – and that’s with usually around 6 hours of shooting time.

Just ask her if she has general idea of when they’ll be finished. Maybe you can let her know that you were hoping to use a couple for a Christmas card, so if she could at least edit some of the couple shots you would really appreciate it.

About 8 weeks is normal. But I’ll normally give clients a few shots to use as thank you’d etc and I normally have a sneak peek up in three weeks.

@UJSMCWG06:  My average turnaround time is 8-10 weeks and that’s for an 8 hour wedding. To give you an idea- for every hour I shoot I have about 3 hours of uploading/processing/editing time. So your friend who gave you a ridiculous deal that she will likely lose money on has 40ish hours of work ahead of her in addition to her regular job and has already delivered Rehearsal Dinner photos. I think you might have some unreasonable expectations.

6-8 weeks is normal for us, and we work at this full time.  One of the disadvantages of having someone with a day job do it is if they are the type to put attention into their editing they have even less time to get it done due to their other obligations.
