Great question and congrats on selecting the photographer! Do you get a CD/rights of all the images? That was probably the most imporant thing for us since my Fiance is also a professional photographer.

As for pictures, I definitely want some getting ready pictures and some of my dress (hanging and also just of me in it) because I think I might donate it after the wedding. And I really want to have unique ones of Fiance and me especially with my train down and viel. Then great family portraits and I am hoping to have out extended families in a heart shape for a group picture.

The most important would be with my puppy. He is not in the wedding (still very very hyper and would be running around like crazy) BUT I really want to try to have who ever is watching him bring him for a little photo shoot before we head to cocktail hour.

My photographer actually has a comprehensive list of shots that could be customized that are “must haves” so that she can make sure she doesn’t miss anything that the bride and groom really want, I would suggest for everyone to make one!!  It details out like “bride looking in mirror while getting ready, mom helping bride into dress, still shots of something old/new/borrowed/blue” etc.

@VermontBride13:  Love the idea of pictures with your puppy!!  That is also on my list — pictures with my bunny 🙂  I’m actually really torn at the moment trying to figure out whether to get ready at my parents’ or at the same hotel as Fiance and pay an extra pet fee for having him LoL.

@elysion:  That will be so cute! Are you seeing your Fiance before the wedding? Because if not, might just be better to get ready at your house to make sure you don’t accidentally see eachother. But if thats not a big deal, then I would just hide the bunny 🙂 Our puppy is 75lbs so I can’t really hide him too well.

@VermontBride13:  We are planning to do a first look, but not while we are getting ready so yeah seeing him is a concern!!  I was thinking/hoping that if we get two hotel rooms, someone in our bridal party can just carry our bunny between rooms and we can leave at different times (again, our bridal party would have to be on the lookout for us).  But that is true, he is small enough to be hidden LoL!

I’ve started collecting shots on Pinterest & making a list to give to our photographer close to the day.  I’m finding more “don’t” shots than requests, LOL!  We really want our photographer to capture us and the guests unaware and being ourselves, so we emphasized that the photographer has to be skilled taking pictures in natural light.  At my sister’s wedding, the videographers set up so many lights my Brother-In-Law said he could perform an appendectomy.

I bet it was a challenge finding a photographer when your Fiance is in that business–mine is an artist and it was difficult enough to choose with him!
